NLC/TUC and Federal Executive Council still at logger heads

The NLC/TUC Meeting with Senate and house of representatives earlier in the afternoon of Thursday 12th,Jnuary 2012 went well with labour leaders expressing their satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting but could not conclude that the strike action will be shelved except they had a second meeting with the president which was slated for 5pm

The meeting with the president and members of organised labour as well as the federal executive council which lasted for over an hour however ended in a dedlock as both parties could not agree on the way forward.

According to organised labour, they had shifted grounds but the executive was unyielding and unwilling to compromise. By implication, nationwide strike enters day four.
Sources say that NLC proposed a reversal of pms price to 65 now and 90 naira in April while government insists on 120 naira. In addition to that,NLC wants the federal government to ber the burial expenses of all those that lost their lives since the strike action began on Monday.

I see Gani Fawehinmi park being filled to the brim today as the Conference of Islamic Organizations has invited  its members to 'One Million Muslim Jum'at prayer.
