FRESH ECONOMIC MANAGEMENT TEAM EMERGES

Oil prices have dipped, Global Market is in crises, Unemployment Theft and Bombing is on the rise. The Economic climate is awash with one problem or the other all at the same .As  my native language adage says if you are languishing in fire and your child is also anguish in fire, you should put out yours first…

So let’s talk about our own economy here in Nigeria. We have  a new (returning)minister of finance in person of Dr.Mrs Ngozi Okonjo Iweala whom the president has instructed all his cabinet members and office holders to either be ready to work with or…also new is the Economic Management team consisting of a 29 man panel to tackle economic issues in the Nigerian Economic terrain

There sure is a lot of work to do, exchange rate is fluctuating and more on the downside, stock market lots over 400 billion naira, just laid to rest minimum wage war, newly nationalized banks, continuous condemnation of economic policies, the yearn for sustainable growth and the development?

So questions that readily come to mind is what makes this new team different from several other teams in the past, is it the caliber of people being brought on board? Has the political will of public office holders changed? Will the law come down hard on corrupt officers who always stand between good economic policies and implementation? Are we ready to look through policies we are implementing and admit we fail when we do? Will there be clash of policies between this management team and other sectors within the finance system, private for instance Are contracts going to be awarded based on credibility, worthiness and merit? Are we addressing old problems in old ways and expecting new results

I chose to be optimistic change is the only constant thing in life and who says the economy cannot change for the better. We will watch wait and pray
But remember when the wind of change blows to your lungs, the onus is on you to inhale, to follow due process to be honest in your own dealings and remember your minute corrupt practice has a contribution to aggregate corruption in Nigeria

I look forward to economic growth, reduced maternal and infant mortality, working infrastructures, fresh graduate jobs in Nigeria,  confidence in Nigerian economy by foreign investors, incorruptible,  strong and reliable financial sector, positive balance of payment, improved terms of trade, strengthened naira security officials improved working condition, improved life expectancy, little or no brain drain, affordable food shelter and clothing increased real income and every positive indicator of growth and development
A New Nigeria..Who is with me on this one?
